Occult of Personality: Interview with Aepril Schaile
Occult of Personality is an amazing site, and it was an honor to be chosen by Greg to be interviewed!
“In this episode, we’re joined by Aepril Schaile. “Aepril is an astrologer, musician and composer…dancer and dance teacher, writer and storyteller, mythologist, animal rights advocate, and Witch.” She has been called “an American priestess of the Dark Goddess” … Our conversation begins as Aepril describes her early life and interest in the esoteric. From there we begin talking about her dancing, belly dance, and the combination of mythology, Magick, Astrology, theater, performance, and the creation of Beauty.”

We”ll also be performing at the Salem Arts Festival on Sat June 6th. The Bellydance show happens at 5pm at Old Town Hall.
Exquisite Corpse Dance Theater had its debut on May 2 at Rakkasah’s Spring Caravan! Our ghostly neo-Victorian Raqs Assaya to the music of Michael Nyman and Maduro was well received. Though our trip to NJ was short (too short!), we enjoyed being able to meet some new friends, and we were glad to see old friends, too.
Our next performance as a troupe will be on Sunday, June 14 at 1pm for The ART of Bellydance, a show co-presented by Exquisite Corpse Productions and The Salem Arts Association. The show will be part of a larger event celebrating the 2009 seasonal opening of Salem’s Artist’s Row. The show is outdoors, and its free. (Klop Alley and Derby Streets, Salem MA). Bellydance celebrated as an artform!
Aepril will be performing a solo at Hips for Hope, a benefit show presented by Northshore MA’s PURE chapter for cancer research. Also in Salem, this show happens at the Old Town Hall at 2pm on Sun, May 17.
Hope to see you there!
