Raqs Gothique: Gothic Bellydance (Mixed Levels)

Bellydance Basics (Level I) 6pm-7pm
Session: $91; drop-ins $13.
Learn the elegant, sensual, and sacred art of Bellydance! Get in shape, develop more confidence, and increase your mystique while learning basic Bellydance vocabulary with an emphasis on dramatic expression, technical precision, and a delightfully dark feel. No prior experience necessary!
Beyond the Basics: Raqs Dramatique (Level II) 7:15-8:15
$112 (No drop-ins after the first class unless pre-arranged with the instructor.)
Special session: This winter we will work with the Chakras, an ancient system of energy centers found in the body. Still working to build on technical skill and expression, our work with the Chakras will facilitate increased health, power, grace, and the spirit/body/mind awareness necessary for total confidence as a dancer.

All classes include some basic yoga stretches and moving meditation as part of instruction. You can bring a yoga mat if you wish. Please wear comfortable clothing, and bring something to tie around your hips if you like, in order to better feel your hip movements!
